In the world of electronics, one of the simplest yet most important item that was ever invented were magnetic coils. This kind of coil is a device that is made up of a conductor and a core. It looks like something with a metal looped all over a piece of metal. This can be found in different electrical devices.
Ever since it was invented, people have found different ways that this can be used. These days, it is very useful in a lot of industries especially in things related to electronics. These things are primarily being used as a transformer and an inductor.
An inductor is a device that is used to store energy. One of its most important characteristic is that it can control the electricity that is passing through it. This is very useful in devices that make use of radio frequency. It has become very useful in the development of different kinds of wireless communication devices.
Inductors can come in different types depending on the device that it will be used for. Common examples are the signal inductors and power inductors. A signal inductor can either be you one that is wire wound or one that is multilayered. There are also some that are classified according to the type of core that is used.
When it is used as a transformer, two coils will be used or placed together. Two will be needed because the first one will store the current while the other one will allow it to transfer to another circuit. One of the transformers function is to step the electricity up or to step it down.
Just like inductors, there are also different kinds of transformers that can be found in the market today. Some common examples would be autotransformer, resonant transformer, polyphase transformer, leakage transformer, and audio transformer.
You need magnetic coils for so many things. This is used for different kinds of devices, which cannot function properly if it is not around. It helps ensure safety. Things would be different if it were not around.
