Review of The Ice Cream Diet - Avoid Being Fooled
- By: Bob Steele
With a name like, the Ice Cream Diet, who wouldn't wonder just a little bit about it? Featured in Prevention magazine, the creator of this diet claims you can lose weight while eating ice cream every day. In order to determine whether this diet is for real or not, we decided to review it and tell you the benefits and disadvantages it has.
We all know and fully understand why exercise on a frequent basis is smart to do, and of course the Ice Cream Diet includes that as well. Of course, for people who just want to eat ice cream while sitting on the couch and watching TV, this may not sound so great! However, the fact is, anyone who claims you can lose weight without exercising is not telling you the truth and you should stay away from any such diets. You are supposed to eat a small portion of ice cream every day, but it's a reward for eating low calorie foods and following a smart exercise plan. This diet plan actually will work, but you have to do what they tell you to do; then you can drop some pounds while you're enjoying a little ice cream each day.
The Ice Cream Diet takes good advantage of something, and its a psychological principle that's going on. People will want something to a greater degree once they are no longer able to have it. When it comes to diets, if we don't eat anything we like, we will feel deprived. The typical experience is weight loss, sure, but then almost everyone puts it back on when they start eating the foods they were deprived of. This diet is actually clever because it addresses a very common problem experienced by all dieters, perhaps. This reduction in feeling deprived allows people to feel more positive, and it will also neutralize a lot of frustration and pent up energy.
We do have to admit that the "Ice Cream Diet" certainly can make people think all kinds of things. There still is, however, the emphasis on low daily caloric intake, but you can eat a bit of the good stuff, too. People who buy this book may think that they will be allowed to eat as much ice cream as they want, which is very far from the truth.
People could also get the wrong impression and think the diet is fake and it only makes you fatter - no! The thing is a lot of people will embark on something without doing the necessary homework. You will still need to do frequent exercise while keeping an eye on your daily caloric intake.
You can lose weight with the Ice Cream Diet, and you'll have to do your part just like with any other diet. However... please do not sabotage your efforts by eating more ice cream than the book suggests. Ok? The Ice Cream Diet can be an effective way to restrict the amount of calories you take in while still eating a food you enjoy, but only if you follow all of its suggestions.
